Toyota, Peugeot & Citroen join for the new Van-based MPVs.

When it comes to Platform sharing in the van sector, Peugot, Citroen and Toyota really get along with each other. The latest proof of that is the PSA Peugeot, Citroen's partnership with Toyota where three different vans were created: The Toyota Proace, the Peugeot Traveller and the Citroen Spacetourer.

Of course we still don’t know that much about all three, but it is expected that they are the successors of Toyota Proace, Peugeot Expert and Citroen Dispatch respectively. The models that appear in the images are the people-carrier versions with three rows of seats. They will also be available as people carriers for private buyers or minibus-style shuttle versions for commercial use.

The vans will compete against Vauxhall Vivaro and Renault Trafic (which shares the same platform), Volkswagen transporte, Mercedes Vito and Ford Transit Custom.

Since all the vans share the same platform, it is quite logical that they’d all look alike in terms of design. Underneath the vehicles share technical features and equipment as well as powertrains which we'd expect to be evolutions of the 2.0-litre diesel featured in the current models.
