Ford are considering using self-driving vehicle technology in larger commercial vehicles a senior Ford executive told Reuters on Tuesday.

Vice president of autonomous vehicles and electrification at Ford, Sherif Marakby, said in an interview - "We've been talking with different partners in different industries" about potential applications for Ford's first self-driving vehicle in 2021, including ride-sharing and delivery services," 

Ford is already operating an 'on-demand' shuttle service using Transit vans, similar to Uber's ride hailing service, they are hoping to eventually outfit them with self-driving technology.
